charges are on a per individual basis and depends on a variable of items.
Size, medium, absence of live subject, etc. Although I do work from new & old
photographs,
it is always a benefit to arrange a sitting.
The sitting will consist of discussion, artists
notes and sketches, photographing the subject and initial color studies. As a norm, only a
couple short sittings is required.
It is my custom to complete a work based on my understanding and feeling of the subject. I
do involve the input of ideas but the final result is mine alone as I interpret the
subject in front of me. I paint in a variety of styles from realist to abstract and
will paint in the style you choose.
Charges vary, but as a
rule of thumb, the charges are approximated at $3.50-$5.00 a sq. inch; unframed.
My canvases are no smaller than 16" x
20" and can be as large as you like. Surcharges are applied to odd and oversize
canvases. Completion of work is dependent on the variables. A 50% down payment is required
before the sitting or 'work-start' and a contract is mandatory for the concerns of both
the artist and the subject. Shipping and framing are not included unless terms are agreed
upon prior to start of work.
